This publication was made on the occasion of an exhibition HORIZONTEN EN MEER of Johan De Wilde and Rik De Boe at G262, Sofie Van de Velde, Antwerp.
The artists decided to interrelate two solo exhibitions once again under a slightly ironic title (cfr. IDEAL their previous presentations in Loods 12 Wetteren and Aanzichten en Meer in Rasche Ripken Berlin) and chose this time ‘everything’ as the point de reference for the accompanying publication bearing the same title: HORIZONTEN EN MEER.
This book is a compilation of associations with each other’s recent work and with numerous concepts like origin, reversal, disappearance, relativity, synchronism and chance. Attached is a copy of a drawing, a reaction of their friend and former teacher Wouter Coolens. He also chose the quote on page 49. Laura van wrote Diezelfde ochtend.
It is as if the artists were swept by the stream of information that began to gather momentum in the last century and slipped into the world, and are therefore unstoppable as they graft their work onto increasing quantities of all sorts of things.
Johan De Wilde and Rik De Boe still assume (cfr. Their previous publication IDEAAL) that both exhibition and publication will clarify what they are all about.
